Being the caring mother that I am, and not wanting to pay all our money to a dentist (I doubt Obama will try to reform that racket), I said, "no."
A minute later William came up to me with change in hand and said, "I've got 70 cents, can I get 30 more cents to buy something?" This was on-base, so it was American money.
I said, "Where did you get that money?"
"The couches!" Sure enough, the waiting area has 3 couches that he'd mined for money.
This evening, we asked him why he'd thought of that. And he replied, "You remember a couple of years ago when dad showed me how he sometimes loses money in the couch?"
I thought to myself, I can barely remember what I had for last night's dinner!
For some reason, his resourcefulness was amusing to me.
Did I reward it? No, I didn't give him any extra change. The Starbursts stayed on the circular wire, hovering, tempting some child with their sweet fruity flavor.
But, we did take the money home for William's 'money collection.'

too funny (and smart). It reminds me of Lauren and Odin. He always wants to ride the mechanical horse or car in front of the store but she always just says they don't have enough money. So he started saving up all his quarters in order to ride it.
