I had heard of a beer hall in Tokyo that survived the war, and still stands. When I googled Lion Beer Hall, MANY such places came up. They have small beer halls around, one near the exit from the train station that you need to take! Take the south exit from Ginza station, and walk down the street in Ginza, past Prada, and through one street light cross. It is on the left.
This is the free post card they give out, and shows how beautiful it is inside.
It is much darker in real-life.
Tim loves trying new beer.
I love trying to read the menu, and got gin instead of beer.
The mosaic inlay at the front was beautiful with the grains and hops.
I love how there are factories in the background.
He was pouring a lot of beer.
What a waste!
There were different flowers on every gable. The stone, brick and ceramic tiles made lovely patterns around them.
The columns were in green tile. It was quite authentic, and a lovely way to pass a bit of time.
It was built in 1934 and designed by Eizou Sugawara. It took three years to complete. Thankfully, the beer takes less time to get to your table!
