Inn at the Presidio

The Presidio was a military base.  Now, it is a giant park that is great for bike riders, as there are many roads through it.  People can rent the houses.

There's a new hotel, the Inn at the Presidio.  It used to be an officer's barracks, but they've done an excellent job of revamping it and making it a lovely place to stay.  This was the view from our room (oh, no elevators were added when they improved the place).

When we arrived there was a string quartet playing in this lobby with wine and nuts to eat.

It was also the breakfast area.  We brought our own milk, and kept it in the fridge in our room, especially since Tim drinks so much of it.

We had gone down early, so everything wasn't there yet, but the fruit salad was,and it was a good one!

One of their walls with old bugles mounted on it.

There's a fire to hang out around just outside on a patio.

The parking lot heads right into one of the many hiking and running trails.

View of the back.

View of some of the houses you can rent.

View of the front.

It was pricey ($400/night when all taxes were paid), but we really loved it.  It isn't convenient for taxis. You'd have to call one.  But you can park your car there just fine.  The room was nice, with a large living room in the suite (couch pulled out for William).

We also loved this porch that you can hang out on.
