Fish Market

Several years ago, a friend told us about our local fish market's festival.  That year, we had Seika commitments.  And then we went to Disney World the following year during this time.  So this year, I watched for it.
William didn't want to go.  I convinced Tim, so we out-voted him to go!  Look at the line for food, and this event has barely started!
Corn on the cob is a favorite here.
We see trucks in and out of here every day, early.  They put up banners, and viola, a festival!

They had a mound of all the seafood that they deal with.
That clam and snail are large.
Here's the line to buy an entire tuna fish.
Octopus in water.
Everyone was trying to sell us something.
Squid... num!
Uh, he's not buying it!
We did get some tuna sashimi, and William and I pan seared it (still raw on the inside).  DELICIOUS!
You could buy many styles of fish.
I talked these guys into selling me one of these fish for ¥100.  William loved it.  I cooked it in the fish cooker, which is a broiler, essentially.
The crowds are thicker for the corn-on-the-cob.
They had a wading pool for the kids to experience the fish.
These girls are showing William a dogfish.
This boy would carry them so long (out of the water) that they would die, and the main guy would have to throw them out.  It's not like a puppy dog!  William was great to pet them in the water, or put them right back in.
I tried picking up a sting ray the same way...  that sucker was big and flopped around, and scared me!
Good fish handler.
Eels... really?  He loved them.
Yep, another dead one.
Giving it to the lady to throw away.
William and a baby ray.
CPR?
In the parking lot, there was this sani-can on a tiny truck.  Too cute!
