I have such a blast at Japanese lessons. I take them with Jun-yi (who is clowning around that she doesn't know which way to hold the book), who is from Taiwan. She knows the kanji, and I learn a lot about what is different about the kanji from the two languages. Probably is something like 'boot' means a rubber shoe with a high top in American English, and a trunk of a car in England English.
I like it because we don't follow the book hardly at all. Usually, we have questions about what has happened to us off base, and didn't understand. Or, we need something translated. Mostly, we just have fun and learn a little Japanese on the side!
