In our Japanese class, we have enjoyed outings where we take our teacher's best friend with us, as well.
Well, she's moving to Hawaii, so we had one more time together. We all voted for 'hot pot.'Jun-yi has an electric hot pot. Traditionally, it was a pot over the fire in the middle, and you added what you wanted cooked.
Today, we load it with all the nummy stuff Jun-yi can find in Chinese grocery stores!
It might be hard to see, but there are Chrysanthemum stems in there. They didn't taste too bad.
Heck, this looks healthy!
In reality, there are all these tofu chunks, burdock balls, shrimp balls, etc. NUMMY!
I don't know why we're bending over to get in the picture! But, the GOOD NEWS is, Jun-yi has extended, so they'll be here until after we've gone! Woo hoo! Saying good-bye to really great friends has gotten hard for me.

Aloha, Hiromi!
