There's a speed trap on Highway 16, just north of base. They get you south-bound, just as soon as you come out of a tunnel. The speed limit is 25 mph or 40 kph.
So, when my friend Rhonda saw cops waiving her over, she thought the worst. But NO! There were people there who would come up to the cars and give them a daikon radish!!!
It was a way to remind people of the laws. Watch out for bicyclists, etc.
Wow. What a concept. Reward and encourage people, not just fine them. But then again, the 'reward' was a giant radish. :)
