Plum Crazy --Taura

Our neighbor's tree is gorgeous every year.

Of course, I have to step outside to see it.

And I love seeing these up close.

The neighbor on the road behind us has the classic pink plum tree.  Such an intense color, and in bloom earlier than the surrounding areas (our spring is late this year).

Abe-san's other tree is beginning to blossom.  This is the classic white plum.

One house away from Abe-san's, is this one..  I love the contrast of flower colors, and the contrast in colors on his underwear on the line.  :)

William and I went to Keikyu Taura and headed towards the hill.  We saw this along the way.

It was a LONG walk to the start up the hill.

We ended up going through many tunnels.  First time for William to walk through these busy ones.

Notice the 2 liter bottles?  First time I've seen that in Japan.

The trek up was STEEP!

And, the trees weren't really in bloom yet.

This should all be in bloom.

At least there were narcissus.

It still was a pleasant walk... up....

LOVE that the cub scouts here have just as many girls as boys.  And the berets for the den leaders...  cool!

We did see some of the white ones starting to blossom.

The pink ones were still just thinking about it.

On top of the hill is a tower.  William went up it.

Love his art shot!

If you double click, you'll see me on a bench, down by the play area.

Taura's sign (like the HOLLYWOOD sign) with William in front.

Double-click to find William on the play equipment.

We found a flowering tree on our way down the other side of the hill.

And a bamboo forest!

This would be the entrance from the other side.

I only show this pic to show what was in the tree.

Me without a good telephoto lens.  These birds sometimes hang out around here.
