Flower Meaning

This is the view out of our living room window.
I have seen these on base.  They are beautiful.  They bloom in the fall for a few short weeks, then gone.  They have a whole sea of them in one huge flower bed under some sakura trees.  Ours is a lone stalk in the middle of our lawn.
It is called Higanbana or manjushage... or Red Spider Lily.
This has never been in our garden before.  For those of you who read my post on our guest Easter Lily this year, and how it reminded me of my mom, well, here's the kicker:  In hanakotoba, (flowers have word communications) this flower means 'Never to meet again/lost memory.'  Interesting!
