Yokosuka Mikoshi

William can now actually reach the rings in the trains!
In all this time, Tim has never seen mikoshi.  I love the 'happy coats.'  Folks get them in different colors, etc.  So each 'shrine float' or mikoshi has their own team of people.
Some of these are heavier than others.  Usually gold leaf is somewhere on them.  This is in downtown Yokosuka before they go on base.
There is a dress code on base, but it doesn't apply today.  Some of those happy coats are all that you see, those mawashi are so small.
By the time they come on base, some of the mikoshi are being wheeled along, instead of carried.
It was such a beautiful day for it!
We got some Japanese McDonald's milk.
Ronald is a soccer star over here!  :)
