On a very cold February day, Hallie and I went to find a Buddhist Monastery where on this day, the monks douse themselves in cold water and pray for peace. They do some dousing, go to a river and stand in the freezing rain, and come back. We were there for the come back.

A Buddha with a baby!

Even these Buddhas are dressed for the cold.

When they came closer, they flashed the peace sign at us. This was my first day with the new camera, so I didn't get any clear shots.

Then, we decided to go find our own peace at a park. I'd seen it on a blog, and so we were aiming there, without specific directions. We finally found someone who drew us a map. Again, new camera, so all the video of the kids sliding down the huge slide isn't possible to share, but the kids had fun, until they got soaked and wet.

We knew it was time to go when the baby started getting blue. I also pray for peace... although we didn't get it from the kids. They fought on the way back, and it took us 2 hours to get 50 kilometers. Ah, Japan, where they use stop lights to limit people's speed. :)
