Taichung, Taiwan

I had seen a picture of a big buddha that I insisted I must see.  So, we went to Taichung to see him.  We took a bus from the station to the children's museum (Wm insisted to stop there and look), then a taxi here.  From the street, all you see is this small shrine inside a concrete building.  The driver motioned 'around back.'

He is beautiful!  He is happy!  I love this guy!

He has windows in his back-side, or chicken pox.

Rubbing a buddha belly!

Looking out towards the street.

Funky tree outside of the museum.

On the bus ride in, looking at the map and figuring out where we were.

Funny sign.

Big buddha temple.

I just really like this one!  Don't know why!

The fence wall was pretty.

William not looking so happy.

The elephants in front of the big buddha temple.

From the street where the taxi dropped us off.

Another buddha in the temple.

Then it was off to the children's museum in a taxi.  The driver kept looking at William's blue eyes and commenting.

pulleys.

The boy in the bubble.

We wanted to go to the McDonald's in the second story of a different part of the museum.  But they wouldn't let us go without paying admission to that portion.  William LOVED the museum.
